A while back Ok ok..Years ago, I saw a hamburger cupcake idea in Woman’s Day magazine while waiting at the checkout counter. I thought “Mmmm that’s soooo cute”. Never did I think that I would actually try it. My son’s birthday was coming up and we came up with making Darth Vader burgers (he loves Star Wars). I thought and thought hard on how to pull this off. ”Ha!,” I thought to myself ”the Woman’s Day mini burgers! I can make the burgers black” (making the burgers black is another story…sigh). It would be my luck that the issue I needed was no longer on shelves anymore. Now I could bake a cake without an issue. Making cupcakes, well this was my FIRST time ever. Since I was making this for his class, I had to be sure I could actually make them.
I made a trial batch and posted on Facebook for feedback. The critics in my household told me where I needed to improve for the finale.
After making the cupcakes, it dawned on me that I had no way of serving this to class. A friend of mine peeped me to Bakerella. It was there that I found the fast food tray template.
I enlisted the help of my sister to help me. Making these for an entire class is a lot of work but, well worth it.
Off, Off and away they went to class with my son for his class birthday party. He and his peers enjoyed the treat.
